When our family is all together for breakfast, we like to go big or go home! Today we made homemade pancakes (theses are NOT healthy, but they also do not contain any unwanted or foreign ingredients that box mixes have).
Here is the recipe:
The compote was a recipe we came up with ourselves. I’m going to guess here and say that we used 1/2 a package of strawberries, 1 package of raspberries, a handful of blueberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and 2 cups water. We let this boil, and then simmer for about 20 minutes. Be sure to use a large pot because the compote will produce a lot of bubbles. After cooking, pour into a separate bowl and let sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken.
My homemade pancakes and homemade berry compote was accompanied by 1 sliced banana, 1 egg white with Cholula and black pepper and 2 slices of Lightlife sausage.
With a sweet treat like the berry compote, you don’t even need to add syrup!
